Euro Paper Talk: Triple raid on for Arsenal; Messi wants Juve star

Arsenal are close to unveiling the first three signings of the Unai Emery era, while Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to sign a Juventus man ahead of a Tottenham star as Andres Iniesta’s replacement, according to Monday’s European papers.

ARSENAL CLOSE TO IMPRESSIVE TRIPLE DEAL

Arsenal are close to the arrival of three new signings – if reports on the continent are to be believed.

New Gunners boss Unai Emery has been working closely with director of football Sven Mislintat since taking charge last month and the duo are thought to have earmarked three new signings – all of whom are not thought to be close to signing.

According to Messaggero Veneto, the first of those arrivals could be Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto, who has been told he can leave the club for the right price this summer.

Emery and Mislintat are also believed to have a deal lined up for Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who is expected to arrive in a £16million deal.

And finally, multiple reports claim Valencia forward Rodrigo is also due to sign for a fee of around £36million.

MAN UTD, LIVERPOOL AMONG TEAMS IN FOR FIORENTINA STAR

Premier League giants Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all chasing Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa this summer, a report claims.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiesa will be the subject of a bidding war this summer, with the aforementioned trio joined by Juventus and Inter Milan in their interest.

The 20-year-old was reportedly the subject of a £35million bid from Roma which included winger Stephen El Shaarawy, but it was rejected by La Viola.

Napoli were also rebuffed in their attempts to sign the predominantly left-sided player with a £44m bid.

Chiesa scored nine goals and added five assists as Fiorentina fell short in their late bid to qualify for European football for 2018-19.
